I Will Never

write another poem
what's the point

nobody reads
them anymore

they do no good
sitting there unnoticed

poetry is sad and
confusing anyway

writing them reveals
my insecurities

worse yet, they make
me seem different

there are so many
other things

worth doing
like playing golf

I will never
write another poem

starting now

I hope this isn't true. The world needs your poetry.

I agree with Christina. And don't be too sad. Most poets poems weren't widely recoginzed as great until after they were dead. I suggest writing a lot of poetry, faking your death, waiting until your work is 'famous' then re-appear and say 'Gotcha!'

Well, just so you both know, the other poem, "Broken Vow" was meant to go with this one. They were a pair and, yes, I did literally write "Broken Vow" after "I Will Never" but I'm sure you figured that out! Thanks for reading. Now, per Mike, I'm going out to back the car over myself.
